My opinion:  Nice try.

I’ll give credit to Careerbuilder for at least trying to be innovative, but seriously, how many people would want to search for a new job on the go?  They must be super super desperate.  You won’t be able to apply, or upload a resume, or anything.  And they try to make it sound even more innovative by saying they “use iphone’s built-in geolocation technology” aka GPS. I mean seriously.  How does walking around in a city make my job search any more relevant?

Please.  If everyone else is building a mobile app, it doesn’t mean you have to too.  Espiecially if it’s as useless as this one.  I feel bad for all the engineers who worked long hard hours to get this one out the door.

What’s even cooler though, is that EVERY SINGLE PERSON here has a mac. Seriously. Out of 30 people, I’d say only 2 are non-macs. Ok, not exactly everyone, but pretty close.

Time to buy more Apple stock before the new Iphone takes over the world.

Have you ever been in a conversation or meeting and it seems like whoever you’re talking to is always 3 steps ahead of you? It’s like they can read your mind. That’s what it feels like playing chess on the Iphone. Why can’t I win?! Argh.

Fortunately, there’s an undo move button. =) I’ve managed to win a couple of times… by cheating.

This week, I actually got to know my iphone a little bit better and started customizing apps onto the home screen. Here’s what I have so far:

• Facebook – Duh. Everyone needs this.
• Dictionary – For all those times at the bar when someone says some funny word that you don’t understand. (*cough* Steve *cough*)
• Meebo Buddy List – This is just meebo for the iphone. Didn’t make it into Apple’s web apps gallery for some reason, but super useful.
• Pricecheckah – Comparison shopping while AT THE STORE! I’ve always wanted something like this. I remember trying to write one myself.
• Deals – There’s two things I check on my iphone in the morning when I’m too lazy to get up from the bed to move to the computer. Deals and Stocks.
• iGas – This one BLOWS MY MIND. Check for the cheapest gas prices near you. A must have. I’m very religious about getting to the cheapest gas station possible.
• Zillow – Really not that impressive, but since I was the one that PM’d the Zillow API and ZMobile that made this possible, I thought I should mention it.  It basically gets the basic home facts and then links you to Zillow.
• Guitar – Wanna know how I own Guitar Hero? This is my secret. Must have for any budding Guitar expert.

I’m sure there are lots more great apps. I’m probably just scratching the surface, but hey, I gotta spend some time getting to know my macbook too. Or else he’ll get jealous.

• 7 hours sleep
• 13 hours work
• 1 hour blogging
• 1 hour workout
• 1.5 hour lunch + dinner
• 0.5 hour logging into Warcraft and realizing it’s really not that fun anymore

What’s funny is that weekends are the same as every other day now – still 13 hours of work – which means a typical week is easily 60+ hours. I no longer work for the weekends. I work for fun. (And when work is fun, it’s not really work). :)

Alright, enough analysis. Here’s my list. Accomplishments in the past month:

• Started a blog
• Met more people then I’ve met in an entire year
• Had catchup lunches with old old friends
• Wrote my first 20 page business plan (much harder than I thought)
• Learned a bunch of stuff about VCs, funding, taxes, incorporation, HR, etc – more stuff then I’d learn in my many years of college
• Bought an iPhone AND a macbook.  $$ down the drain, but well worth it
• FINALLY wrote some code – after going through code withdrawal since college
• Declined more interviews/offers than I can count
• Run 3 miles/day consistently (After starting out huffing and puffing after 3/4 of a mile) :)

So there you have it. One month in to a long, hard, but hopefully rewarding adventure.

The design is AMAZING. Spaces? Dashboard? Time machine? Expose? Why doesn’t Windows have any of these? And how can you beat a magnetized power cord? Even the packaging is AWESOME. Now if only I can figure out where my Terminal.app went… I think i deleted it cause it’s not showing up on Spotlight.

You guys better start buying Apple stock, cause they just got another convert.

What’s funny is that since IPhone has come out, there has been sooo many people trying to copy. (This post reminds me of my “Youtube Killer? Hulu” post.)

They’ve always said that being copied is the highest form of flattery, but it still sucks. Oh well. Tip to all those trying to copy the IPhone out there. You better have some really really cool features or else no one will want to switch. IPhone is SEXY, you are not. Iphone = the most well designed gadget ever.

So… Iphone Killer? I think not.

If anyone has any other great startup podcast/audio sites, let me know. I can’t believe there’s no good comprehensive site for these audio resources. Maybe I should do another startup in this space after I finish with my current endeavors.

Iphone is by far the best design I’ve seen in a long time – both the hardware and software just shout out the “Awesome”. I can go on and on about how cool the Iphone is, but to save you the effort of reading my rambling, just take a look at some of the BEST apps the iphone has to offer:

No entrepreneur can be an entrepreneur without an Iphone. Seriously – how are you gonnna keep track of your “stocks”? Regular phones can’t magically shake out money. But the Iphone can.

Today I found myself with the unfathomable urge to get some Chinatown lunch action – specifically samurai noodles – and for the first time in a long time, had to think about whether it was worth it to pay an additional $2.50 to take the bus to cross the bridge to get to my noodles. Ah, the days of the awesome Zillow/metro flex pass to travel the world are no more.

$2.50? No way. I’m Asian. My days in Seattle will now be limited. Stupid bus fare. I mean seriously, think about it. 3 months of commute to Seattle would buy me an iphone.

All this got me thinking… I really hope they approve and build the East Link Light Rail for us Eastsiders over here. Here’s the best brochure I’ve seen about the proposed route. Maybe that’ll help me get my Samurai Noodles for a little bit cheaper. I still want an IPhone though.
